Create a Device Profile for Gateway Devices

The first step in getting your gateway device online is creating the necessary Device Profile. From the left-side menu, select Devices > Device Profiles in the web app. Then select + Create New profile button on the top right corner.

Here you will need to enter the device profile Name, Manufacturer, Model, as well as ensure Gateway Device is selected for Type Designation. When creating a gateway device type Role is always set to Gateway.

Leave Integrations blank initially. This can be set at the Device Profile after an Integration is created.

Upon creation, the Device Profile can be found on the Device Profiles menu. Select the device profile to view it.

On the Device Profile, navigate to the Abilities tab.

A list of abilities will appear, each of which you can toggle on or off.

Enable and disable the abilities according to your requirements for this device profile, then click the Save Changes button. At this point, you have created your device profile and we can now move on to creating a device.
